It became known medicinally centuries ago, yet science acknowledged it in the mid 1800’s. There are journals written by practitioners that treated Smallpox with a Sarracenia decoction and they found it to be so significant it was suggested to be used more widely. It was reported that not only did sufferers get well within days, but the skin eruptions that come along with Smallpox seemed to completely clear the skin, not leaving pits as it normally seemed to do. This is all stated in a journal written in 1863, although it is claimed that the validity of it being a cure for any disease has never been followed up on.
